DPRC (Diganta’s Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre) is the only ISO Certified Centre for treatment of Physical Disabilities and Spinal Injuries in the North-East. We also operate a unit DCRS (Diganta’s Child Rehabilitation Services) for children with Special Abilities — autism, cerebral palsy and other issues.
We have been running DPRC without any government assistance. Recently, we completed 9 years of our existence with happy and confident patients and family members alike.
During our third anniversary programme in 2015, present Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, then Health Minister, assured us that if he becomes a part of the next government, he would help us transform DPRC into a bigger stage to cater to the needs of the masses. It is to be noted that on 8th July 2012, Dr Sarma himself had inaugurated the Centre in Rajgarh, Guwahati.
While DPRC operates on its own, DCRS is run by an NGO, Aanchal. We have been receiving patients not only from the entire North-East but also from Bhutan and Nepal. We are trying our level best to get resources and funding for DPRC to get it established as a premier Centre for Spinal Injuries Treatment and Physical Disabilities for the North-East.
